Known YouTuber jailed in Dubai for drug use.

Dubai: A prominent Saudi youtuber was sentenced to six months in prison for consuming hashish.

On Sunday, the Dubai Court of First Instance heard that an 18-year-old social media influencer was caught in his apartment in the Business Bay area of Dubai last February, along with other suspects who were later taken to a misdemeanor court. They were caught when they were eating hashish.

A Saudi YouTuber was accused of storing and planting three marijuana plants in his apartment.

According to official notes, the Dubai Police Drug Enforcement Unit has been informed that the Saudi Arabian defendant has drugs. The 32-year-old UAE police officer said the defendant, who has millions of subscribers on his YouTube channel and a large number of Instagram followers, was arrested along with two young men and a minor. “We found tobacco mixed with hashish weighing 8.29 grams. In the freezer, we found a plastic bag containing 82 grams of hashish,” the officer said. The policeman added that the police found a living room device to bloom three [marijuana] plants. “He confessed that he found the seeds and planted them.

The three plants were two feet tall and weighed 405 grams.

“We found tobacco mixed with hashish weighing 8.29 grams. In the freezer, we found a plastic bag containing 82 grams of hashish,” the policeman said. The policeman added that they found a living room device to bloom three [marijuana] plants. “He admitted he had found the seeds and planted them.”

During the interrogation, the defendants stated that another person had given them drugs that they did not have during the search. The police subsequently arrested a supplier who had some hash found in their car. The supplier claimed to have received the drugs from an unknown Pakistani outside the UAE he knew via WhatsApp.

“The Pakistani sent him a place to pick up the medicine, and he transferred the money to him through a currency exchange. He claimed to have sold drugs to the accused for AED 3,000,” the policeman added.

The court ordered the deportation of the Saudi defendant after serving his prison sentence.

The verdict can be appealed within 15 days.
